Kayaks

Dozens of colourful kayaks manned by mannequins floated over the polluted waters of the Pinheiros River in São Paulo.

Thousands of people cross the city's bridges and riverside areas every day, and the intention was to remind them of the existence of an abandoned space of the metropolis. The intervention recreated the rowing activities promoted by São Paulo clubs until the 1920s.

Today, the river is completely contaminated, the result of negligence on the part of the population and the government. In the last week of the exhibition, a huge rubbish island stranded the kayaks and altered the composition of the work.
