Windfalls

The Cataventos intervention was carried out in a vacant lot in the heart of Cracolândia, a region known as one of the most devastated of downtown São Paulo, with strong presence of drug users and crime.

The set of eight large sculptures, which moved with the action of the wind, produced wind energy to power a system with lamps that illuminated the work itself. The result of a 12-month research on alternative energy sources and recyclable materials.

The work created a creative energy field that challenged the apocalyptic landscape of Cracolândia.
