In 1996, I start my first series of paintings. After a trip along the Pacific Coast and the Andes Mountains, I return to the city of São Paulo and, based on my photographic records, I make realistic compositions with old and abandoned vehicles in natural landscapes.
The series recalls the introspective and solitary atmosphere of travel. The vehicles
are symbols of passage, transitory elements of initiatory experiences.
