Celestial is my third series of paintings, and in it I take on an interest in colour and abstraction.
I photographed fragments of the sky after storms and used the images to compose the background. Biomorphic forms dominate the composition of the works, and thick layers of oil paint build on the canvas a new perspective captured by the digital lens. The horizon disappears and fragments of the sky appear. Golden containers float in the colorful and enigmatic space, which reminds us of cartographic plans and satellite images.
