Anchor

Unauthorized intervention in the Bandeiras Monument, in São Paulo. Also known as Empurra-Empurra, it was sculpted in granite by Victor Brecheret and inaugurated in 1954.

I built an old ship's anchor and installed the object, in broad daylight, on the modernist monument that represents São Paulo's development.

Even without the city council's approval, the Anchor remained there for three weeks. During an attempt to remove it, I was ironically prevented from doing so by the police, who claimed to be defending the city's historical heritage.
